Coven Of The Enchanted Star!$December 2008 Notes!

Merry Meet!
December 2008
Merry Meet,

COTES members have experienced growth in amazing ways this past year. The New calendar year is bringing changes to promote the further education and growth of our members. Stay tuned to the COTES website for the details on the following items:
Last Saturday will continue, however we will be bringing more structure to the format.

The day will include (among other things) a meditation at the start of each Last Saturday, followed by time for learning divination techniques and drumming. Last Saturday will always begin at 5pm on the Last Saturday of each month unless a workshop is added. In the event we add a workshop, an announcement will be made via e-mail and the website calendar.

Formal coven rituals will be held monthly and will be announced on the COTES calendar only. These rituals are intended for specific magickal workings and will be held on the new or full moon of the month. The rituals will have a format to include circle preparation, casting, herbology, and spell works with a specific intent. The coven rituals will be scripted and each member will be required to know their specific role in that ritual ahead of the evening. Coven dress for rituals is required (street clothes are not acceptable attire). Robes, sarongs, pagan pants of a single color are acceptable.

Finally, RSVP are appreciated for events. Holiday gatherings and rituals require planning and it is a constant source of frustration when we are expecting someone who doesn't show or call to let us know, and when we have people show we are not expecting. Therefore, in the spirit of consideration, we would appreciate an RSVP to all functions. The formal rituals, however, require an RSVP to attend.

The Founder's meeting will be in January on Last Saturday and will begin at 2pm sharp. Discussion includes etiquette for the degree levels and planning for the following year. The meeting is open for attendance by all coven members to observe.

If you have any questions, please feel free to respond to this e-mail. Members wishing to advance in a degree for the coming year should be making plans to meet with me prior to Last Saturday in January.

Imbolc celebration will be included in Last Saturday for January 31st. E-mail messages will be posted as we approach that date.

We will be coloring eggs on Ostara and having breakfast tacos for refreshment that evening.

The San Antonio Witches' Ball was a wonderful evening. Many thanks to Adept Erzulie for her hard work in the planning. The evening was a presentation of many creative talents. The gowns and formal attire was inspiring. Pop's Tux was a huge hit!

I have a few more thank you's to offer in this note:
Amanda and Stephanie, thank you for embracing the aspects of the Goddess and lending your energy to charging the circle in preparation for ritual. Many may have perceived what was being cast, others may have wondered, but all could not help feel the Goddess in our midst through the two of you.

To the Founders: Thank you for all your support for the past year. It has been a lot of hard work keeping COTES rolling and on track towards our goal of living pagan "every minute of every day" as we reach out to each other and our community.

To the San Antonio Pagan community and her supporters: We have reached a point where we are practicing the Spirit of community at its best. Thank you all for reaching out to each other all year long (and many more to come, I am sure). I am honored to call you sisters and brothers :)

To our friends all over the globe: We miss you! It was great to see you even if it was just for a few short minutes on Skype. We are making plans to visit and send all our hugs to you until we can deliver them in person. May the light of the Summer Solstice warm your hearts!

This year has been full of challenges and changes and next year will bring more of the same. May the God and Goddess in each of you shine through during the next year as we tackle the new lessons, stretch and grow, and hold hands through obstacles and joy.

Bright Blessings for the new calendar year!
