Recipe: Roast turkey with Wine


10 to 12 lb. Turkey
Bottle of fruity white wine
1/4 stick of butter
a little water, to make enough broth

Directions:

Defrost the turkey; rub with salt and pepper inside and out. Stuff with you favorite bread stuffing. Place in a roast pan; add a little water; pour 1/2 bottle of wine over turkey. Rub turkey with butter. Cover lightly with a foil tent. Bake at temperature and time listed on the turkey. Every 20 minutes or so, baste turkey with the juices and add a little more wine.


. When making gravy from the juices, you can add 1 package of store bought turkey gravy. I found it helps with the flavor.

Note: I have found that wines with peach, apricot, apple or any wine with these flavors work real good.
